Overnight Hangout at San Juan, La Union: Surfs up weekend

Too busy for a weekend adventure? Then an overnight hangout in San Juan, La Union would be just right for your schedule. Have some time off and unwind.

Leaving Manila at around 2:00am is the most convenient option so that you can sleep during the 5-6 hrs  travel, bound for La Union. You can ride Viron, Dominion, Partas buses all of which are located at Cubao . They all have have hourly trips that pass thru La Union. Remeber to ask the conductor to drop you off at the Plaza in San Fernando La Union.



We have roughly around 3hrs to burn since check-in time is at 12:00nn. Places to visit in San Fernando La Union are the ff:

After enjoying the quick sidetrips in the Capital, take a jeep from the plaza bound for Urbiztondo and check in to your respective resort. The cheapest that I know is Se-bay resort. You can bring your own food, booze and everything here, no corkage. Nice! Other resorts in the area are San Juan Surf Resort, Kahuna and Little Surf Maid Resort

Once you check-in, best thing to do would be to rest up or hit the bar for some food and drinks or just relax and do some girl watching. You can frequent celebrities here enjoying themselves during holyweek and surfbreak on Oct I think.

Hitting the beach at around 4pm would be the best time to avoid getting burned and provides you ample time to do some surfing. Surfboards are available for rent @ 200php for half a day but if your a newbie you would need to hire an instructor @400php per hr and that already includes the board. Enjoy about 3 hrs of sun and surf and remember to hang loose dude.

Check out time is at 12nn and you may choose to take your lunch along the restaurants near the highway. There is a greek restaurant just across Se-Bay that you might want to try or you may go back to San Fernando and eat at Taipans or any of the restaurants near the market place such as Jollibee, Mcdo, Pizzahut and the like.

Once your done with all your activities, you just need to wait for a bus bound to Manila at the plaza.
