Tarlac Recreational Park

Found in the heart of central Luzon, one will wonder about the things that you can do in Tarlac for the summer season. Its no Baguio or Sagada if you're looking for that "cool and refreshing" weather system to beat the heat. It doesn't boast of any beaches like La Union for the for the Surf Junkies. Nor does it have any islands for hopping like Pangasinan. Its hot and all it offers might be just another provincial scenery when travelling up north. If you're an outdoors person or just open for a new experience, then Tarlac may just have something for you.

About 3 hours away from Manila, TRP (Tarlac Recreational Park) located in Capas, Tarlac may be just what your looking for especially if you're on a budget. It was opened way back in 2009 and housed events such as the Central Luzon Athletic Meet 2009/2013 (CLRAA) and the Palarong Pambansa 2010.

It's now open to the public with a whole days worth of attractions at a very reasonable price. Before going to the place, I did some proper research on their website at TRP (Tarlac Recreational Park) to see what they have to offer and found that some of the activities I wanted to try were the ATV, Kayak and Mountain Biking.  Other great activities available are Airsoft, Zipline, Swimming, Trail running, Camping, Basketball, Football, and a jog around their oval. There's also a race track for Go Kart and motorcycles, they said you can also use your car if you want. Scattered around the park are picnic areas. However, you need to make sure that you bring enough food and water as there's limited choices in the sari-sari store here.

When we arrived at TRP via Tricycle from McDo (near market place), we were greeted at the entrance of the

Mt. Romelo: Siniloan, Laguna

This will be the second adventure for the Year 2014. Destination is Mt. Romelo situated in Sinaloan Laguna. Participants for today are Belle, Charlie, Eliza, Chelle, GF and BF (due to some unfortunate event GF and BF were no longer able to join.)

Mt. Romelo is a very easy adventure with a 2-3 hours trail, easy access to public transportation and over all a great Hike and Swim experience.

Meetup point is at Robinson Galleria. Recommended Call time is at 5am to be able to enjoy the hike and go to the waterfalls. We all met at around 7am since some of the participants still had work until 6am.

Laguna bound

We were lucky enough to get a Van that ply the Antipolo, Tanay route. There were 7 of us in the van so it was quite roomy and felt like we rented the whole van since the driver was nice enough to drop us of at the Jump of point itself.

I was with my highschool friends Diego, Kenn, Nikko and Janna.

Ang Alamat ng Bundok na Manlalamon (Mt. Manalmon)
